This is the question most often heard from people during Banned Books Week. More accurately, the question is who challenged the book being in the school or library and wanted it removed, and why, and when and where did all this happen, and how did things turn out?

This year, September 25 – October 2, 2010 the American Library Association is again promoting Banned Books Week as a celebration of the freedom to read. See a list of the top 100 most challenged books for this decade on their site. Some of the titles will definitely surprise you!

Welcome Back

To our returning students – welcome back to Worcester State! To our-first-year students, we hope your time here is enjoyable and productive.

As you begin getting assignments that require library research, be sure to visit the Library in the Learning Resources Center (LRC).  Just a reminder: your OneCard serves as your library card.  The Library hours this semester are as follows:

Monday – Thursday: 8AM – 11PM
Friday: 8AM – 5PM
Saturday: 9AM – 5PM
Sunday: 1PM – 9PM

You can also visit us online 24/7 at http://www.worcester.edu/library  To access the library databases from off-campus you’ll need your WSU network user name and password. Any questions about the Library, you can call, click or come in!
