The Library has secured a trial for the database America History & Life with Full Text, beginning 9/17/12 to 12/16/12. It is available through our EBSCOHost platform and can be accessed on campus by simply clicking on the link for the title, or from home or off campus using your WSU network username and password.

This the definitive database of literature covering the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present, and without question the most important bibliographic reference tool for students and scholars of U.S. and Canadian history.  America: History & Life with Full Text also provides full-text coverage of more than 200 journals and nearly 100 books. The database also includes citations and links to book and media reviews. Strong English-language journal coverage is balanced by an international perspective on topics and events, including abstracts in English of articles published in more than 40 languages.

Did you know that WSC Library users have [free] access to 2 databases that provide virtual treasure troves of local history online?

First, check out Digital Treasures, a digital library collection of the agricultural and industrial history of Central and Western MA. The collection includes historical images from Athol, Hudson, Lancaster, Northampton, Worcester and more.

Also, Massachusetts History Online [a Gale Cengage database] provides access to almost 250,000 full text articles from over 50 sources that relate directly to Massachusetts history.
